OTHER WORKING EXPERIENCE:

My love for travel led me to work in 5 countries (Croatia, India, Ireland, the US, and Japan).

During my 6-month international internship in New Delhi, India, I had an opportunity to work in a corporate office of an IT company that, at the time, employed over 5,000 workers in over 15 branches all over India.

That role (Customer Analyst) experience has shaped my desire to work in the strategic communication field.

Upon returning to my home country - Croatia, I worked in a public relations agency, organizing events, creating media strategies, and promotional events.

However, my traveling bug was not entirely satisfied, and after two years in the PR industry, I spent the next few years working on luxury cruise ships and hotels in the US, Ireland, and Japan. Finally, I settled in Hawaii, where I have undertaken different positions in the hotel complex for seven years.

During the pandemic, I started transitioning to user experience design, completing a one-year program and getting a certificate in UX Design.

TRANSFERABLE SKILLS

  • During my tenure in the hospitality industry, particularly within hotels and cruise ships, I honed my ability to engage directly with customers. This immersive experience provided me with invaluable insights into their reactions to various products, experiences, and even the language used to convey them. I discovered the profound impact that subtle adjustments can have on enhancing user experiences. Moreover, my commitment to empathy and exceeding expectations emerged as cornerstones of exceptional customer service.

  • My roles in public relations and administration further broadened my perspective. Here, I cultivated a keen understanding of the broader business landscape, which proved instrumental in implementing innovative solutions. I developed a deep awareness of how digital products can influence the day-to-day operations of an organization and its diverse stakeholders.

  • Throughout my career, I've consistently found parallels between effective communication strategies and UX design principles.
